I was recruited to Indeed in 2017 and since then I’ve led design and strategy for products and features that help job seekers and employers find and connect with each other.
For job seekers looking for work, I’ve improved or created features for applying for jobs, profile and resume creation, homepage dynamics, and mobile experiences. 
For employers, I’ve set strategy and product direction for ambitious, company-wide goals. And I’ve recently had the privilege of being involved in product strategy around Indeed’s diversity, equity, and inclusiveness at scale.

  • Led the design and implementation of the Indeed Hire Platform (internal recruitment automation for high-volume hiring)
  • Collaborated with product leadership and senior recruiting professionals to define user needs, plan design strategies, produce deliverables, and launch features.
  • Designed and implemented Resume Search Interview, resulting in ~20 million interviews
  • Executed end-to-end research prototypes

Hulu is an American video streaming platform that offers a library of films and television series from networks including NBC and Disney, as well as Hulu original content. It also provides ad-supported, ad-free, and live TV subscriptions.

EXPERIENCE

PRODUCT DESIGN LEAD/MANAGER, LIVING ROOM

I was recruited to Hulu in 2017 as living room design team manager. I led a team collaborating with engineering, product, and research teams to create Hulu experiences for game consoles (PlayStation and Xbox), smart TVs (LG and Samsung), and streaming devices (AppleTV and Roku).

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Managed the design team for living room and console experiences
  • Selected and managed local design agency consultations and vendor relations
  • Created the vision and oversaw end-to-end design deliverables for future streaming television visions, incorporating lessons from linear and live broadcasts
  • Designed and developed user interfaces, wireframes, and prototypes for user testing and launch deployment
  • Introduced Framer for prototyping through the development of living room prototype for user testing
  • Was an active contributor to the Hulu Design systems and language

Expedia is an online travel agency where users book airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, and vacation packages.

EXPERIENCE

PRINCIPAL PRODUCT DESIGNER

I was recruited to Expedia in 2013 as a Principal Product Designer. I initially focused on hotel onboarding and reducing the time to the first booking. Later, I shifted to Local Experiences (LX), introducing design strategies to achieve business goals.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Owned significant UX/UI design responsibilities for the Hotelier and LX marketplace, working under the direction of C-level leadership and the UX design manager
  • Designed and developed end-to-end user interfaces, wireframes, and prototypes for user testing
  • Introduced the team to InVision for prototyping, facilitated introductions between InVision and Expedia, and managed the UX team account
  • Introduced Sketch to the UX team through a series of brown bag sessions, making it the primary tool for the team

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Led design for an improved hotel onboarding process, reducing the time to the first booking from ~180 days to 1 week
  • Reduced the hotel onboarding process from ~40 days to a few hours with my design and an iPad app
  • Created first Sketch design system

Recruited to Google in 2010 as a senior designer on Google+, I initially focused on Google+ Photos experiences. (Larry Page even reviewed my portfolio!) I worked on diverse projects, including social photo sharing, game matchmaking, real-time communication apps, and setting up new deployment platforms.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Owned significant UX/UI design responsibilities for Google+ Photos, working under the direction of senior product leadership and design research

  • Developed user interfaces, wireframes, and prototypes for mobile and desktop experiences

  • Led and participated in several design sprints for Google+ Photos

  • Created local design systems to ensure consistency

  • Utilized Sketch as the primary design tool and custom-built tools for prototyping

  • Managed multiple projects, covering a wide range of design deliverables end-to-end

  • Provided creative direction to outside design agencies collaborating on Google Photos

  • Explored new real-time communication features with Google Hangouts, including live content and online gaming

I joined the Amazon Retail Customer Experience (RCX) team in 2009 initially, focusing on Bestsellers lists determining how to present and layer the data. After, I joined the Discovery team to find new ways for users to shop on Amazon. Later, I joined the newly formed Mobile team during the iPad launch.

  • Designed user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and user interfaces for mobile apps, tablets, and the main Amazon website

  • Simultaneously managed multiple projects, covering a wide range of design deliverables end-to-end

Eddie Bauer, LLC, is an American clothing store chain headquartered in Seattle. It sells merchandise through retail stores, outlet stores, online, and by phone.

In 1999, the web was still new, and doing anything online was risky. People were especially apprehensive about purchasing clothing online, making it an ambitious and exciting time to be on a web team. I joined a newly formed division to help Eddie Bauer transition from an AOL storefront to the web. Every day, our small team found new challenges and targets to pursue. I worked my way up to become Director of the e-commerce design team, directly managing art directors, designers, copywriters, and our photo agency.
